Why does a home cooked meal taste (and feel) a bit different from the ones cooked at a restaurant / food shop? Well, we’re not going to talk about that argument here because we are in here for ranking down the ones that are cooked other than at home. We love eating on them and we will keep on looking for the best dishes out there and we will lay it out for you.

In this edition, we are going to feature a Pork Chop meal, a Beef Rice meal and a Ribs and Scallops Combo.

These are not categorized by the type of restaurant or even the price range, but rather randomized based on merely what was available at any given time. They are judged by the following numbers:

Each dish are scored based on the following criteria:

Now let’s get on with the dishes shall we?

Location: Reyes BBQ

Food: Grilled Liempo (1 piece Meal)

Sides: Atchara

Drink: Iced Tea

Don’t mind the sauce, good enough without it

Summary:

The taste of this dish is so confusing. If it’s in any consolation, eating the pork without the sauce is decent enough, but when you dip it onto their sauce, it’s where you’ll get lost. The sauce tastes on a striking resemblance with commercial BBQ sauce but probably mixed with something else to make it unique – a sour bland sauce that did not have its own identity. To top it all up, the Java rice seems to taste too much of the bay leaves.

Verdict:

Location: Sizzlin’ Steak

Food: Cheesy Beef Rice

Sides: None

Drink: Iced Tea

Sizzles right in front of you

Summary:

The rice at the bottom gets a little too hard, partly because of the sizzling plate and the fact that it wasn’t mixed right away after being served. The cheese is overpowered by the spices and vegetables such as the bell peppers so the part where it is being cheesy is not recognizable here. The beef strips are tender and not so much chewy, which is very good. Would want to visit again but try another dish.

Verdict:

Location: Red Lobster

Food: Ribs and Scallops

Sides: Peas

Drink: House Iced Tea

The Scallops are literally slathered – Yuumm!

Summary:

The scallops are somewhat sauteed in butter and it is tasty enough to use that sauce to your rice. Can we now get to the rib part? Well, what can I say, it is one of the most tender ribs that I had and its marinade is fascinating you would want to order more. Was in some sort of dilemma whether to give this the highest score because of the little bit of a high side on the price, but what the heck, still one of the best lunches so far. A must try!

Verdict:

The taste, the size and price all vary on all the dishes we featured in this review. It is purely objective so we highly suggest to find them out for yourself.
