Not Your Usual Food Reviews: Don Henrico’s

It is not usual for a virus to come into our world and cause great havoc to all of us without proper preparation or even with just a clear warning of what’s ahead of us. But hey, it happened so we all have to contribute in one way or the other to help resolve this health issue the soonest. But enough about that, let’s get to a thing that matters better now – tasting great Italian-American fusion food, and what better to experience that is at Don Henrico’s.

Decades-long of great food

Don Henrico’s is a homegrown American-Italian restaurant that originated up North, particularly in Baguio City. Fast forward to what they are now, the management decided to branch out and put additional ones in the metro. Let’s check out this decades-long service in providing great food and find out how their current ones in the menu still provides their own identity in their own right.

The Food

1. Homestyle Onion Rings

Crunchy all throughout!

This starter is actually a staple food by quite several restaurants and some of it doesn’t cook it that well. This one in Don Henricos menu is an exception. The crunch is evidence coming from great deep frying and the tartar sauce is blended enough for a good dipping on every bite. The good thing about this is that it kept its crunch all throughout even if it’s not warm anymore.

2. Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza

Seeing this on the menu got us curious about how this could this be infusing a burger and turn into a pizza. We’re not disappointed by our curiosity as it is a great tasting pizza. As an overview of how it tasted, it tastes more like a bacon cheeseburger indeed, it’s just that it was served differently. You may say it is different, but it is really worth a try once in a while.

3. Tutto De Mare

Great fusion of the sauce!

One of the things that would make or break an Italian-themed restaurant is how are their pasta would fair. In this case, Tutto De Mare is indeed one of the most sought after pasta in Don Henrico’s menu. The fusion of the marinara and a mix of herbs and spices are superb. The squid is not chewy at all and the shrimps are reasonably sized. The sourness of the tomato and the right hint of spice make this pasta a must-try here at Don Henrico’s.

Never gets old

Sometimes branching out can be a good thing to access more markets specifically for a food business. Branching out too much may be a bad thing, and it is good that Don Henrico’s is keeping its branches to a minimum and was indeed placed strategically all throughout. We won’t mind because driving to a specific location to experience great food such as in this one is definitely worth it!
