Not Your Usual Food Review: Angrydobo Chef’s Night Experience

An already well-established restaurant, Angrydobo has garnered a strong following among its customers. However, what keeps them relevant is their ability to keep their customers curious by showcasing a regular event called “Chef’s Night”

Angrydobo provides new dishes in their regular event called Chef’s night and we recently had a chance to experience one night of them and experienced first hand some of their new dishes that are possible to be included on their regular menu in the future.

We will feature them in this food review.

Callos

Their first offering on Angrydobo‘s Chef’s night, and it went with a real good bang!

A very good starter indeed, the 3 types of mouthfuls comprise of Oxtripe, Shrimp, and Alaminos Longganisa. All of which are so lovely to munch on!

Boquerones

This fusion dish from Angrydobo comprises of local crunchy snack along with complementing fishes as its filling. The tomato gives out the juicy sourness along with the inviting texture of each fish meat. An enjoyable dish too along with the others on the list that we have tried.

Calamari

This dish from Angrydobo is a real treat for us. The noodles are made of actual squid meat. You read it right squid meat! The squid ink is made as an adobo taste and complements the overall taste of this sampler.

Sorbetes

This comprises of calamansi and kamias – two citrus ones that are made into a tasty dessert. The sourness and sweetness of this dessert really washes out all the strong taste of the previous dish that you ate before this. Good one!

Pescado

A fairly exotic dish for us in this food review, this Pescado dish from Angrydobo comprises of several seafood (clams, barramundi, and bagaybay) with its sauce going towards a distinct aftertaste. Definitely a unique experience for us but it’s something to look forward to as well.

Paella

A seemingly familiar dish for most including us, the Angrydobo version of Paella comprised of a distinct use of a crunch pork belly and quail egg. Nonetheless, the version of this dish is on point too no matter what.

Leche Frita

A fitting dessert as the finale of the whole experience, this one hits the spot mostly for those that have sweet teeth or even to any of us having fun in dining in. This comprises of the famous local desert Maja Blanca and a caramel ice cream. What can you ask for more with that?

The Chef’s night event of Angrydobo is really a hit for us as it showcases the restaurant’s initiative to become adventurous / experimental at the same time get a first hand opinion of their customers with the aim to expand their menu in the future. If you are in for a real food adventure, we highly recommend trying one of their events in the future!
