On any food shops / restaurants, very rare you will find that they only serve one dish. There is certainly a number of choices that you can choose from – some of them mentions “best seller” or “recommended” tag. Though sometimes you have to get out and try something different just to explore.
In our latest edition, we will be featuring two new dishes from two restaurants that we have tried before and the other one is a Japanese Okonomiyaki Restaurant.
Just like any of our previous editions, we score each dish in the following manner:
Each of these scores are based on the following judgment criteria:
So let’s get on with the dishes:
Location: Dohtonbori
Food: Hamburg Steak
Sides: None
Drink: None
Summary:
Though this Jap food resto is predominantly an Okonomiyaki specialist, a Hamburg steak / Okonomiyaki became a surprise. It was a surprise that it ended up with a great smile on the face. The patty is juicy enough for a nice and blissful chew and the Okonomiyaki underneath complemented it so much that a big single serving may not be enough for some because you will love it. The splashing of the sauce and the cheese in front of you while being served tops it up so much you just have to try it our for yourself.
Whether they serve original or localized dishes, they still serve great dishes, and we loved it all the way.
Verdict:
Location: STONS
Food: Steak Egg N’ Rice
Sides: Onion Rings
Drink: None
Summary:
Following up with a great experience the first time, we came back again with the expectation of a great dining experience. And true enough, the rice bowl they serve is one of the best tasting specifically for its flavored rice. The USDA steak variant may not be as too enticing to get more frequent visits, but you will definitely come back for their onion rings, because its crunchiness is simply blissful.
Verdict:
Location: The Morning After
Food: Spaghetti and Meatballs with BLT Sandwich
Sides: None
Drink: None
Summary:
An interesting take on a classic dish – the meatballs are very tasty and is overpowering the ground meat that came from the pasta sauce. It is a nice take on the usually spaghetti and meatballs which is quite enjoyable to eat. In terms of the BLT sandwich, well this is where a mixed reaction to the dish comes in mainly due to the sliced bread used, which could have been better.
Verdict:
Trying out new dishes or unfamiliar to you is a hot or miss, but you may never know until you try.
