A taste of nostalgia comes along when you hear music from when you were younger. This is what we felt when we heard the performance of some of our well known and respected local artists that have made a name for themselves over the years.

We recently has an opportunity to check out a collection of great and renowned local artists performing in one night originally intended for a cause held at 19 East.

First up was Acel, former vocalist of bands Orphan Lily and Moonstar88. She is now performing as a solo artist and has released several singles over the years.

Here’s a snippet of her rendition of Rivermaya’s “Your Universe”:

Here’s her rendition of the song “Sulat” originally popularized by her when she was the vocalist for Moonstar88:

And of course, you would want to miss Acel singing “Torete” again in this snippet:

Next up into the night’s gig is Mojofly and they started with one of their recent ones titled “Kapit-Lapit”:

And of course, who wouldn’t be excited to hear their song “Mata”, their one of the most popular songs during Lougee’s time as the vocalist of the band:

How about hearing a rare one from the band? Like a rendition of Rivermaya’s song “214”?

Next up is a band who has just recently celebrated their 40th anniversary and still rocking as if they have just formed the band. Here’s Betrayed with their most celebrated (err commercially successful) single, “Never Meant to Be This Way”:

This is the only video we recorded on their set. We’re sorry for that because we became too busy bobbing heads or moshing on the floor all throughout!

Last but not the least is the band called “Violent Playground” . The band released one full length album back in the day but has since went to have a solid cult following. Here’s their most popular single entitled “Starvation Army”:
