We’re back to do a quick rundown on one of the most sought after Hotel accommodation South of the Philippines. We’ll check out how this Hotel’s room accommodations would fare against the others Will it be satisfying or will it be annoying? Let’s check out further.
Ouano Ave. Seno Blvd. North Reclamation Area, Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines
Located at the heart of Urban Cebu (Mandaue City is between the likes of bustling cities such as Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City), Bai Hotel in Cebu gives an urban feel and modern look from the outside. It won’t stand out from afar because of its dark color, but it definitely looks singled out as it is the only towering building (so far) within the nearby areas. The window view options from the room is either city, in which you can find busy Mandaue city and overlooking the mall nearby which is colorful at night, and the sea view where you can find the nearby pier. Not sure if it is an eyesore but there is an ongoing construction of a condominium that is somehow blocks the full view of the sea.
If going here from sea transportation, it is just a stone’s throw away from the pier and this is the easiest way to going here. If by land or from the airport, you will be met by a considerable amount of traffic which is almost equal to Metro Manila. In terms of accessibility to other things other than the Hotel amenities, there is a nearby mall just across the hotel, which you can go to buy groceries, eat (but no fine dining restaurants here), drink or just plainly stroll. The hotel also provide free shuttle services going to this mall and the other bigger malls nearby.
The hotel has an in-house coffee shop (if you got sick of working or staying at your room), fine dining restaurants, a rooftop bar and a pool bar as well. The pool bar closes at 9pm though so you will be forced to go up the rooftop bar if you want to drink more. The ambiance between the two bars is too different from each other as the pool bar is on the cozier/quieter ambiance while the rooftop bar is noisy and may not be for everybody.
Now we get to the part on what we are here for – what is inside the room. The premier room houses almost everything you need for a comfortable stay. The toiletries provided have all the things that you need as well as the set of towels are complete in accordance to every need.
The toilet has bidet and the showers has both the spray type and waterfall type one – no bathtub though. The Air-conditioning is fully controllable unlike some hotels where there is a centralized Aircon and you almost have no control on it. The TV should keep you entertained with most of the channels that one usually watches on are there. The bed is king-sized and soft enough pillows for a good night’s sleep.
The study table is spacious enough to work in using your laptop along with vanity mirror that will serve as you well when you dress up to go out for the day.
In terms of accessibility, coming from the airport would be a little bit hard due to traffic but should be alright compared to other hotels located further from the airport. That complex but seemingly normal accessibility situation is almost negligible with the type of amenities and the accommodation Bai Hotel offers. It also provide a type of customer service that absolutely warrant nothing but praise due to its very accommodating personality.
In terms of the room, everything is there to give you a good and comfortable sleep. Just a slight problem though – the hotel policy is telling that all transactions such as room service for food is paid per order and cannot be charged on the room. This then resulted to an empty fridge that has almost no use at all except if you buy something from the hotel or outside that you want to be served chilled. It is a small concern that does not actually affect the over-all score of this hotel.
All in all, Bai Hotel will be at the top of our list in considering booking for a hotel whether it would be for business or for pleasure. Not only us are truly satisfied on our stay in this hotel, others also agreed to us as well.
