Japanese culture is so rich that it influenced so much of the world including food. We consider Japanese food as one of the most flavor rich cuisine all because of the spices and herbs that they use but most specifically the kind of preparation and discipline they performed on it.

We’re always going to be featuring a number of Japanese-themed restaurants out there from time to time because of that and for now it will be Dohtonbori for this round of food review.

We are very fortunate that we are chosen by Dohtonbori to fulfill their overseas ventures and we’re very much willing to try them out. We’re really optimistic that we won’t get disappointed. So let’s get on with the food review proper shall we?

Four-Cheese Okonomiyaki

The Okonomiyaki in itself is good enough but what more if it is topped with four different types of cheese? Will it blow you away? You bet! The cheese and the Okonomiyaki sauce perfectly complemented each other and the result was an enjoyable dish all throughout. It is very filling too as the portions / servings are enormous. The cabbage strips may be a vegetable, but it’s definitely can be considered as a rice / noodle substitute because of this.

Tonkotsu Ramen

The soup broth is superb you really do want to sip all of it. The noodles are well-cooked and the firmness is still there. The toppings / ingredients fare very well with the over-all dish and this is truly an enjoyable dish over-all. One thing though is that the serving seems a little bit small despite being enormous. We wanted more but it is feeling like it is gluttony already!

Gyoza

The staple dish whenever you dine on a Japanese (themed) restaurant, the Dohtonbori version does not have a special thing to it that you would want to come back because of it. There is enough meat filling inside and the wrapper is very well cooked. Still an enjoyable dish no matter what.

True enough, the great things coming from this game-changing country (culture-wise) always delivers and Dohtonbori is a viable example of it. We really had fun on our experience here and this Dohtonbori food review is a clear evidence of it. You really have to try them out at least once for you to believe us. But we can definitely vouch for them because of our experience.
