Not Your Usual Food Review: Fiddle Leaf

Advertisements

In-house restaurants within the Hotel accommodation venues tend to be a little bit too integrated with the Hotel and may sometimes be not too attractive to non-Hotel guests for them to try. But when we came across Fiddle Leaf, it felt as if it has a reputation on its own and actually has a strong following and patrons besides the guests checked-in at Somerset Alabang. Here in our latest food review, we will be featuring some of the Spanish/Filipino/International dishes of Fiddle Leaf.

Fiddle Leaf is located at the 4F of Hotel Somerset and it showcases fantastic view of the South of Metro Manila. It is highly suggested to visit them at night as they offer an Al Fresco dining experience which will light up at night. In this food review, we will go Spanish and will try some of their Tapas as well as their Spanish dish best sellers.

Angus Hanging Tender

Very tender and very moist – that’s what we can say for this dish of Fiddle Leaf. It may be due to the fact that it was served in sliced bits, but nevertheless the overall taste is superb which notably is great tasting for its sauce and cooking manner.

Ceasar Salad

The dressing’s serving is well enough for the mix on the salad and it easily complements the aim for saltiness, sourness, and some sweetness of this lovable salad. In this kind of dish, fresh ingredients are key and Fiddle Leaf’s version fits well with this one.

Seafood Paella

Sticky and tasty – these are the first two descriptions that comes up to our minds describing this Fiddle Leaf version of Seafood Paella. The Seafood toppings were well-cooked and all of them are enjoyable and not to the point of being too chewy. The rice is sticky enough to produce some juicy texture as you much along. Very enjoyable dish all throughout.

Pulpo A Feira

While there is a lingering interest on this dish, we seem to be not expecting a lot considering it is actually an appetizer and the expected taste doesn’t actually have a baseline (at least for us).  The actual is something that is surprising. The dish is that Octopus bites are seated above the mashed potato like dressing in which you can spread through each bite you take. The taste is something that makes you try another bite to check what its actual taste is. It is also a filling appetizer too as each bite makes you feel full. We don’t know about this though because we probably took more than we needed. New to our taste, but definitely a must try.
