As of this writing, the United States sits at number 1, which has almost 1 million cases gap against second-ranked Spain. The same countries within the top 10 such as Italy, France, China, and Germany are still there while the United Kingdom seems to have jumped over some of the countries that used to be higher than them.
Looking at the total number of tests against the country’s total population, India still has a very long way to go if they need to test more individuals as the gap is very high but they did test 1.2 million individuals as of current. On the other hand, the Philippines has the lowest number of total individuals tested. The Coronavirus origin in China does not have a published number of individual testing for Covid-19 though.
Looking further on testing rates, Israel is interestingly the number 1 in individual testing with 14.21%. It is then followed by Spain, Italy, Germany, Singapore, and Australia. The United States, on the other hand, has a testing rate above 5%, which is OK when compared globally. A glaring point is South Korea only has a 3.65% testing rate.
These numbers would seem to look like it does not translate to a better standing in several cases between each country but the uncertainty of the total number of positive cases because of lack of mass testing is also a key factor.
