Let’s face it – we are a nation of BBQ lovers. For every food stall that have set-up a BBQ grill on the sidewalk and started grilling meat (of any kind) or even innards, 99.99% of the time someone will approach and buy a stick or two of our beloved BBQ. Perfect for a snack, pulutan (appetizer / pica-pica) or even the main course of a full meal, nothing beats the satisfying taste of the charcoal grilled barbecue on a stick.

Since it is a well-loved food all over the town, a lot of BBQ stalls are out there. But not a lot are reaching full blown food business that racks up revenues. Most of them are only a drive-by / pick-up basis on ordering and cash-only payments. But Mang Raul’s BBQ Haus has surpassed all of that and has become a large BBQ producer that has been patronized by thousands up to this day. Why is that so? Is it the portions / cut of each stick they sell? Or is it the taste that people are always looking for and found very pleasant here? Let’s find out more on this Mang Raul’s BBQ Haus review.

The Food

In this BBQ review, we’re checking out five out of eight on their menu and see how will they fare in terms mainly on the taste. The BBQ Haus also provide three types of sauces for every food delivery and they are the following: sour (vinegar-based), sour and spicy (vinegar-based), and sweet and sour (ketchup-based). For each type of BBQ, we will also provide suggestions on which sauce is best for them. Seems exciting isn’t it? Read on further and check out which of these will be your next one to order to satisfy your food cravings:

1.Pork Meat

Not a lot of BBQ stalls / food stands out there sells tender (and juicy) pork meat. One of those few is from Mang Raul’s. The tenderness of the meat is very consistent (as confirmed based on our multiple orders of this satisfying piece of stick). While the portions are on the low but manageable side, all of them are meat and not any of the portions are fat. Definitely not the usual BBQ sticks that a lump of fat is skewered on the last part of the stick. The marinade is well seeped into the meat and you can definitely taste it as you munch along.

Recommended Sauce: Sweet and Sour

2.Isaw Baboy (Pork Intestine)

Aside from the consistent marinade, the tenderness is exceptional considering this is pork innards in which it is inherently hard to make it tender. In this manner, it looks like it was boiled properly prior the marinade thus the tenderness. It was also cut in half in such a way that sides of the intestine are properly scraped and boiled into. The result – a taste and texture that you hardly can distinguish it from a pork meat BBQ! Definitely a must try!

Recommended Sauce: Sour and Spicy

3.Isaw Manok (Chicken Intestine)

Let’s face it – the wiggle look of a chicken intestine is really not pleasing to the eyes. But when you start to try it once, you’ll definitely eat more. In the case of Mang Raul’s version, it has an added edge simply because of its marinade and the tenderness is always exceptional. You’ll definitely eat more of these and even order again and again.

Recommended Sauce: Sweet and Sour

3.Tenga (Pork Ears)

Another exotic part of the pig that not all are fond of but with Mang Raul’s version, it may have a chance to change their minds. The signature marinade is there as expected, along with the tenderness of the meat (even with the chewy part, which is manageable to chew). Another variant that you could be mistaken it in eating pork meat instead.

Recommended Sauce: Sour and Spicy

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Consistency is key

All in all, the consistency of Mang Raul’s, regardless of the variant is proven to be a big edge compared to its competitors. The signature marinade’s taste is always a staple evidence of their quality and has been that way over and over despite of the multiple orders from different times. It is no wonder why a lot of people love their food and continues to patronize again and again.
