California Pizza Kitchen does not need any further introduction. It has established its reputation well enough to be famous and become worthy of multiple visits for those who crave for Italian-themed food. While they are on this already, we’re so happy we will now have a chance to document what their great food variations are in terms of its taste and even presentation.

As said, this CPK food review will serve as a homage to what the restaurant has offered to us over the years. However, it will also serve as a guide to weigh in on their readiness in the “new normal” where dine-in options are limited and take-out food is highly encouraged.

In this food review, we are actually showcasing a three-course meal from a wide range from CPK – an appetizer, a pizza, and a pasta.

With that being said, let’s now check this California Pizza Kitchen food review:

Spinach Artichoke Dip with Tortillas

We have grown so fond of Spinach Dips in which we truly enjoyed the version of last Cibo food review and we cannot pass up the opportunity to try the CPK version.

The spinach dip has some bits of artichoke and as you pair it with the tortillas, it will then have a crunchy and chewy feeling. The over-all flavor is very tolerable – not so salty and not so creamy, it is then a perfect appetizer that will make you ready for the main course.

Pesto Creme Penne Pasta

CPK is a Pizza house, but that doesn’t mean they can only do great Pizzas. We firmly believe they can offer great Pastas too and this Pesto Creme flavor is one of them.

The pasta sauce amount is generous enough to taste them on each Penne pasta bit and a fair amount of toppings too. The pasta is superbly firm despite being on a take-out mode. All in all, it is quite an enjoyable (and filling) food that you would want to try.

The Original BBQ Chicken Pizza

Again, California Pizza Kitchen is a Pizza house, so our expectations are high on this one. As expected, it did not disappoint in our opinion. While the BBQ Chicken flavor is an unusual one, it did not hinder from being a trademark CPK Pizza. The crust has a superb texture and the flavorful BBQ complements everything down to the toppings. Truly an enjoyable one up to the last slice.

Consistent all throughout

What we can tell with California Pizza Kitchen is that you can never go wrong with most, if not all of their dishes on the menu. Each of them truly has their trademark all over and we’re glad to enjoy them despite of current restrictions on dine-in.
