We all know that a sushi is something wonderful already. But having heard of a baked sushi is really something different. The baked sushi craze has started a little over a year ago, where everything (including food) needs to be taken out of the restaurant or delivered at your doorstep. The baked sushi is one comfort food that anyone would love – with its filling rice base and the deconstructed nature. G’s Favorites is one of those who offers this, and more.

Aside from Baked Sushi, G’s Favorites also offer Shabu-Shabu products and some milk tea and fruit tea beverages. Though the Shabu-Shabu products would be interesting, we will be focusing on the Baked Sushi in this G’s Favorites food review.

Not too many food servers / shops out there is doing good in their packaging in terms of being transit-proof / travel-proof. In these tight situations, we do not fancy any delivered food that gets to us with spilled sauces, mixed ingredients, or much worse – a broken cup of beverage. Thankfully, G’s Favorites packaging are so fancy and secured, we’re very satisfied on how it was packed and even looked.

Duo Party – California Maki – Kani & Scallops

Having two flavors of one baked sushi order is definitely better than one! This strategy by G’s favorites is definitely a welcome one and we’re really happy it went well. Can this California Maki / Kani & Scallops combo keep up with the hype? Let’s find out further on this food review.

California Maki

As seen evidently on the image, the toppings are very generous and well placed overall. Their pick on the mangoes are superb as they are very sweet which in turn became the overpowering flavor. The sesame seeds acted as great crunchy feeling and the mayo sauce complemented the whole flavor.

Kani & Scallops

We don’t know about you, but in this baked sushi food review, the star of this dish is the Kani & Scallops flavor. The combination of these two brought in the full flavor and some saltiness. We actually did not stop eating until that part of the dish is fully consumed – all done in one sitting. Reheating instructions were provided, however, may it be cold or even straight from the refrigerator, it can be enjoyed really well.

Strawberry Fruit Tea

This is a refreshing beverage and a great flavor specially during warm weather. The sweetness is just right which makes it a great beverage to be shared with kids.

Okinawa Milk Tea

While we can say that beverages are not G’s Favorites’ forte, we can also say that this milk tea flavor is decent enough for a good refreshing drink. The pearls are still OK and lovely despite its transit time and the over-all taste is still OK.

Double the flavor, double the fun

As much as we enjoyed making this G’s favorites food review, we truly enjoyed their duo party flavor. We’re really looking forward to doing another run from them. The one we tried is definitely great, and we will plan to try out their other offerings as well.
